Zoplo spreads a positive message on new single, "Are We There Yet"
Just released on December 14th, 2022, Zoplo has just shared an outstanding new single titled “Are We There Yet” to close out the year. Please read on as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
Currently representing the music scene in Toronto, Zoplo is a blind Hip Hop-inspired singer and songwriter that is consciously aiming to not only spread a positive message within their music, but to do it in a truly artistic way. This newest single is titled “Are We There Yet” and immediately hits you with a fresh feeling, something rare nowadays in this genre, especially because so much of its power comes from the themes being covered. Plain and simple, we love it, and we cannot wait for everyone to give it a listen.
Zoplo is no stranger to music in the slightest and has continuously been building up quite the catalog as of late. Having had the opportunity to open up for some of the greats like D12, Yung Lean, Tech N9ne, and so many more, we honestly think it won’t be long until artists say they got to open up for Zoplo. Aside from that though, there really are so many special moments surrounding “Are We There Yet”. On the background of it all, the artist has said “the song is meant to provide representation to those who have grown up dealing with mental illness”. Although nowadays thankfully there’s so much more representation compared to even 10 years ago, it’s never going to be enough. Songs with dedication and vivid lyricism like this deserve to stand out from the pack and be spread due to the greatness they bring.
The song itself is also bursting with passion, virtually guaranteeing to send shivers down your spine caused from its soulfulness. We appreciate its Hip Hop nature of course, but the production and grand atmosphere it holds in the backing vocals and varied instrumentation are super impressive as well. There’s a real warmness and intimacy that it exudes, almost as if Zoplo is singing directly to you, begging you to make the connections within their meaningful words.
