WØLFDARLING explore their powerful new single, "chemical violence" - Interview

Surpassing our wildest expectations with their latest single titled “chemical violence”, we got the incredible opportunity to sit and speak with Sam Urich of WØLFDARLING to hear all the important background on a song we’ve quickly come to love. Check out our full interview below.

Currently based out of Detroit, Michigan, WØLFDARLING are certainly a band you should keep your eyes peeled for in 2022. With so much on the way and a seemingly endless amount of creativity at the tips of their fingers, brothers Sam Urich (guitar/piano/vocals) and Jack Urich (bass) are doing big things with this project. Sitting and speaking with Sam was a total delight, plus he gave us some important insight on what exactly the music means to him.

Described as tragic, gloomy, and primal, “chemical violence” is as much a stunning display of songwriting as it is an impressive sounding track. Filled with twists and turns that will have your interest piqued from the opening notes, we have a feeling that music lovers across the spectrum can find something to hang on to here. They had a little help on the production side from Chris Ahn and Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) and recorded it at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI, and Ahn's studio in Los Angeles, CA.

Now while we wish we could’ve spoken with both brothers, our conversation with Sam was just as hard hitting as we’d hoped it would be. Kicking off our conversation on a heavy note wasn’t what we expected, however it really did provide the much needed background and origin story that “chemical violence” entails. We’ll let you listen for yourselves in order to get the full gravity of it at all, but just know the song becomes that much more powerful when you hear the truth.

With hopefully so much more on the way in the New Year and a solid base to go off of, WØLFDARLING is a project that we’re going to keep our eyes on mainly due to how much we resonated with the song and the message. We suggest you do the same, so please check out the links below where you can listen and follow along to stay updated.
