WAJI analyzes heartbreak on fantastic EP, "The Pity Party"

Come on, come all, everyone’s invited to listen to The Pity Party coming from an incredibly talented artist that goes by WAJI. Read on for a closer look at the EP, in addition to a background on the artist.

Sharing a small collection of heartbreak anthems couldn’t have been an easy task for WAJI, but the way that he’s let the world take a peek into his soul on The Pity Party is entirely commendable. At its core, this record harps around the unfortunate circumstances of failed romances, but paired with some seriously hard hitting lyricism, the artist has managed to create equally beautiful moments from start to finish. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our listen and think you will too.

At four total tracks, the artist’s intention was to, “compile it in hopes that heartbroken people wouldn't feel so alone after hearing WAJI's struggles.” You immediately get thrown into the struggles of his world, but with the help of energetic pop beats and a downtempo production, the entire package of it all comes alive. Without the help of Don Ozi, Enjahn, and kamenmakesmusic, this project wouldn’t be possible. They helped to invigorate a truly unique sound and come up with an originality that will feel just as fresh 10 years from now.

Although the EP is only four tracks, we always enjoy it when an artist doesn’t fill up a massive record with pointless filler tracks. In this case, what you’re getting is raw, unfiltered, and straight to the point. WAJI doesn’t hesitate or ease in the listener on this EP, but basically kicks it off in high gear right at the forefront and doesn’t let off the pedal until the final moments. Considering it’s a short listen for the most part, our recommendation here would be to start at the top and let the art run through completely untouched.

Lastly, this record and review comes out on release day (February 10th, 2022), so don’t hesitate at all, give it a listen! We’ve made it easier than ever to do so by including all the important links below in order to listen and follow along for more in the future.
