Fraser Broadfoot shares a collection of love songs on "Be My Valentine"

Right in time for Valentine’s Day, Fraser Broadfoot has delivered an aptly titled EP called Be My Valentine. Read on for a closer look at the record, in addition to a much needed background on this immensely talented performer.

Based out of Oxford, Fraser Broadfoot is pulling his many influences from some of the greatest ever like Elton John and Passenger. In that case though, he’s still gone a step above and refined his sound to pure beauty and introspection on his EP, Be My Valentine. It’s an original sounding record that places emphasis on subtle instrumentation and his soulful vocals that share the message clear as day. This would be the ideal record to listen to on the most romantic day of the year.

What you can expect on this 5 song outing are his best love songs, originally intended for his wife while celebrating their first Valentine’s Day together. To be honest, it’s completely gentlemanly of him to share those sentiments with the rest of the world and those who aren’t gifted songwriters like Fraser. Like so many during this past year though, he had the downtime of lockdown which ultimately led to the writing of this record. If you’re familiar with his music in the slightest, you’d know that the title track “Be My Valentine” is actually from his 2nd record, Sea of Change.

Now while each song is like stepping into its own world of atmosphere and love, our sincere recommendation here would be to check out this album from start to finish. It flows so eloquently and really Fraser’s soft spoken vocals lead the charge on the emotion of it all. Although they’re not commanding in the sense, his particular style lends itself perfectly to the message and songs like “One Lifetime” become that much more powerful due to that fact.
