Thelma Ball share a striking new single titled "My Other"
Serving up a silky smooth single titled “My Other”, Thelma Ball are back with their first new track of the year. Please keep reading for an in-depth look at the song, as well as a much needed background on this emerging band.
Named after their grandma, Thelma Ball are crafting together an inspired mix of alternative rock and have made their way into 2022 with one that we’re totally loving called ‘My Other”. Slightly reminiscent of The Strokes, but infused with a whole ton of originality and personality on their end, they’ve managed to create something perfectly bright and upbeat. This was our introduction to the band, but now that we’ve familiarized ourselves, we can now definitely make a sincere recommendation to check them out for yourselves.
With more planned for release later this year, Thelma Ball have kicked things off strong with this energetic piece of art that we simply haven’t been able to turn off, seriously. As the genre that they’re playing bleeds into our personal preferences, typically it’s something that we would judge harder and more carefully at the start. However, their specific style, vibe, and emotions that they’re bringing out into every facet of this song has made us instant fans. Although we weren’t quite able to make deep connections within the lyricism, you can fully appreciate the uniqueness that they’ve brought to the instrumental and production side of things. How their sound is carefully crafted around what we felt embodied elements of the 90’s and present day rock is a tough thing to border, but they’ve nailed it.
Now having had the opportunity to check out some of their work from year’s past, we’re truly looking forward to seeing how they evolve their sound by the end of the year. No rush to the band because you can’t force art, but we’d love to hear more tunes in the style and speed that “My Other” holds! If you’ve yet to explore their music for yourselves, now is the perfect time to do so.
