The Kid Cash shares exotic blend of styles on debut album "Words Unspoken"

Blending together a downright impressive amount of styles and genres, The Kid Cash has just unleashed his debut record Words Unspoken on the world. Keep reading as we take a closer look into the album, as well as a background on this artist.

Easily one of the most inventive and out of the box records we’ve experienced so far this year, The Kid Cash’s debut Words Unspoken has a little bit of something for everyone. Pulling influence from Americana, Country, and somehow managing to infuse those two with polar opposite Trap-style beats, it sounds wild on paper. However, the artist really has gone above and beyond in making something that’s undeniably his own, which is exactly why we’re urging everyone out there to give this a spin as soon as possible.

Led powerfully yet delicately with his expressive and emotion-filled vocals, Words Unspoken clocks in at nearly 30 minutes across 10 diverse tracks. Immediately as you click the play button, the artist has sort of created this immersive and moody feeling, preparing listeners for a cavalcade of personal stories and experiences plucked from his life. You get a taste of it at all on the opener “intro”, but things really begin to blossom on the midway point around “heroin”. Though lyrically he does make it quite clear on a lot of these tracks regarding their subject matter, this record stemmed from his estranged engagement, continuing to explore toxic and unrequited love, in addition to picking up the pieces and moving forward. As fantastic as this is on the production and vocals end, the heart and soul undoubtedly lie in these stories from a stranger.

As previously mentioned, on paper the mixture of Country and Trap sort of seems impossible, at least that was our initial impression. Sincerely though, this record is a prime example of making music in a non-formulaic nature, actively attempting to distance yourself from the “competition”. The beats are inspiring and original, the production is as crisp and clear as ever, and everything about this feels fresh. In the musical landscape going forward, it’s risk taking like this that is going to pay off the most. Overall it’s really an album and the entirety of the experience that we recommend.
