The Flyleaves transcend sound on optimistic single, "Shout!"
You know it’s going to be a great day when The Flyleaves puts out a new song! We’re loving this all new single called “Shout!” and we think you will too. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a refresher on this immensely talented artist.
We’ll say it again for those who haven’t been listening, but if you’re sleeping on Cooper Hair’s musical project called The Flyleaves, you’ve been seriously missing out on a whole lot of indie greatness. On his newest song called “Shout!”, Cooper has channeled an inspiring and optimistic sound that’s guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. Without a doubt, we are highly recommending you check this one out as soon as you can.
As the writer, instrumentalist, and producer of all his music, the stylistic changes that each song possesses continue to show the evolution of The Flyleaves’ sound. Speaking specifically on “Shout!” though, we immediately felt transported back to the 1970’s with this heavenly sounding song. Paired with backing vocals that were truly transcendent, we instantly got vibes from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and so many more inspirations. Although the way Cooper used his vocals here was fully original in its own right.
While we’ve got nothing but positive things to say about the song itself, and honestly hope you give it a listen as soon as you can, we’ve also got to give a nod to the single artwork. The face presented was exactly our reaction after listening in the realest sense of it at all. We didn’t expect to feel so inspired after our listen, but as The Flyleaves continue to put out more tunes, everything has become more refined and fleshed out.
Like always, our hopes continue that more music is on the way because at this point having reviewed his music multiple times, we’re legitimate fans. 2021 was a wild ride for single releases, but here’s to hoping that 2022 delivers big in the way of more EP’s and albums. No rush to the artist though, we know these things take time and patience.
