Putting her own signature spin on the country rock genre, Tasha Blackmore has infused an edge and attitude into her latest musical endeavor, “Brown Eyes”. Accompanied with a music video that we’ve attached below for your viewing pleasure, this song immediately jumped out to us as powerful and anthemic, something we could instantly envision ourselves witnessing in a live setting. The energy is unmatched, and if for some reason you haven’t let Tasha’s music into your life just yet, now’s just about the ideal time to do so.
Capitalizing off the success of her last single “High Time”, we’re thrilled to see that Tasha’s hot streak is continuing on. While she’s always had glimmers of country pop emanating from her sound and style, let us confidently claim how big of fans we were hearing a slightly more electric guitar driven approach to “Brown Eyes”. It’s got her roots and sound implanted in what we’ve heard in the past, but there’s a clear evolution in where she’s headed. “Brown Eyes” could potentially be a turning point from the rest of her discography, but for now, only time will tell.
With so much more in the works in terms of new singles that are slated to drop sporadically, this first one feels like a wake up call to all who were on the fence previously. At just a tad under four minutes in runtime, Tasha wastes not a single second immediately immersing the listener into an atmospherically rich mood and tone that the song holds. There’s undoubtedly a grittiness due to the instrumentation and production in the background, but for absolute certain her vocals are the glue that holds it all together. You’re hit right in the face by a dynamic range and it’s almost as if the twists and turns never stop coming until the final notes. At this point, it’s safe to say we sincerely enjoyed our listen.
