Steinsdotter shares aesthetically pleasing single & video for "Nightshift"

Freshly released and with an astounding music video to accompany it, Steinsdotter has gone above and beyond on her latest single, “Nightshift”. Keep reading for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this artist.

Embodying the feeling and style of dark pop with a “witch-glam aesthetic”, the artist known as Steinsdotter has nailed the execution on her newest song, “Nightshift”. Immediately immersing the listener through its danceability and empowering feeling, the artist toes the line between something atmospheric and spiritual all at once. This was our introduction to Steinsdotter’s tunes, but she’s left us wanting more. We think you’ll feel the same, which is why we’re recommending everyone check this out immediately.

On our initial listen, you’re hit almost instantly with this hypnotic feeling that sucks you directly into the song. The production is enveloping and sets the tone right from the get go that things are going to feel dark and eerie. There’s definitely a reason why this and the music video were shared around Halloween, mainly because it holds that feeling of suspense, drama, and the unknown. However as soon as her vocals enter the mix, all of the emotion and mood come coursing throughout “Nightshift”’s backbone. From the booming bass lines looming in the background to the twists and turns that come in the mid section of the track, your focus is always being shifted and transcended to the next level of what the song has to offer.

Of course the music video is also the perfect representation of how the song feels, something that’s rare nowadays. Taking cues from The Blair Witch Project, but still managing to keep it looking fresh and original, the song wouldn’t be complete without the visual element. It somehow steps up the listening experience in a way that’s difficult to explain without watching it for yourselves. For a first time listener of Steinsdotter, she’s hit the mark in terms of capturing an aesthetic, and it’s one that we hope to hear not too much of a pivot from on subsequent tracks. As we patiently wait for more, go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with everything else on the way.
