Glitter takes us on a tour of her self-titled debut EP - Interview

Highly anticipated but finally arrived, Glitter has shared her all new EP! Luckily for us, we got the opportunity to speak with the artist all about the release. Please watch our full interview below.

Currently based out of Dallas and thriving within the local music scene, Glitter has shared her new four song EP after a series of fantastic single releases. Thankfully, she was kind enough to take the time out of her busy schedule and give us a proper background on the creation of the record, the recording process, and even a glimpse of what’s to come in the future. If this happens to be your introduction to Glitter, we can think of no better jumping off point to the rest of her music.

One thing you’ll immediately notice when clicking the play button, Glitter is seemingly all over the place in her influence and inspiration. However, she makes it work incredibly well in terms of infusing sounds of the past with elements of the present and future. At its roots it’s certainly a record based in indie pop, but with the help of a talented band behind her, all collaborators achieved their vision in truly making something unique and fresh sounding. Backed up by bandmates Jett Raines, David Crandall and Mac Bain, everyone gets their shining moment throughout the listen. Additionally, the production was out of this world thanks to John Dufilho and Salim Nourallah. The crispness achieved and the subtle effects looming in the background provide such a nice complexity to an already vibrant EP.

We’d been playing the lead singles “Pretend Love” and “L.I.T.F.” for quite some time, but now listening to them in the context of the record, they somehow pop even more. Getting to speak with Glitter and receiving the origin stories on these tracks was also a major highlight. As a listener, you can only assume so much making the connections through her imagery-filled lyricism, but honestly it was the cherry on top to our conversation getting a glimpse into personal experiences.

All in all, we’re obviously recommending everyone out there give this a spin! Go ahead and click the links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with all future news. Enjoy!
