Seasoning deliver dreamy new single "Friends", off upcoming EP
Crafting together an incredibly atmospheric and introspective single, we’re loving everything about Seasoning’s latest offering, “Friends”. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a background on the project.
What originally started out as the passion project of multi-instrumentalist Lachlan Buckle, slowly transformed into the addition of Tom (drums), Sam (Guitar), and Annie (bass) to help round out their full sound. Completely reminiscent of fellow rockers Real Estate, everything that Seasoning has managed to create on “Friends” is a huge dose of feel good style with a lyrical message that actually makes you want to slow down and connect the dots.
Described as jangle-pop, the background of the track really has to do with that feeling of isolation some feel when moving away from their core friends and family for the first time. Lyrically speaking, Lachlan and company have nailed the theme on the head with everything they’ve described, but also created a true world of beauty around their dream-like instrumental. We fully imagined ourselves lying on the beach with a drink in hand or cruising down the highway on a sunny day jamming out to this special song.
When it comes to indie rock tracks like this, honestly we tend to “judge” them a little bit harder because it’s the type of music we listen to in our free time. You can only imagine the delight at the end of our listen when we realized that there’s more on the way coming from Seasoning. In fact, this is actually the first single off their upcoming EP titled The Condensation. Without a single doubt, we’re extremely excited and looking forward to that release because if “Friends” is any inclination, the EP is going to be a total jam.
Without spoiling too much else, just know that we’re giving this song our personal seal of approval for the many facets of it that proved to be spectacular. You’ll embark on silky vocals, top tier production, and a tight sounding instrumentation that would honestly succeed on its own. Do yourselves a big favor and please check out the links below where you can listen, follow along, and stay tuned for everything else that’s on the way for Seasoning.
