SAPPHIRE slows things down on exceptional single, "call u mine"
Slowing down her sound and delivering all the emotions, SAPPHIRE has crafted up another brand new beauty titled “call u mine”. We love it! Read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a refresher of the artist.
Maximizing everything within the production but ultimately continuing to center the song around her dynamic vocals, SAPPHIRE’s latest “call u mine” is everything we could have hoped for. Further her talents on the songwriting end, it’s the perfect complement to the last song we reviewed of hers, “Repeat”. If this is your introduction to this artist’s music, get ready for a memorable performance.
So much of what we enjoyed about this newest musical effort was the slow climactic creation that shows itself throughout the song. Beginning with basically just her vocals communicating the story and then introducing orchestral violins and underlying beats was an absolute wild ride for the senses. All the while throughout the song though, SAPPHIRE’s even keeled vocals kept for the perfect constant that the song desperately needed.
Says the artist on the background of the song, “I really wanted this song to mimic the feeling of falling in love - that warm fuzzy feeling that we’ve all experienced in some way. But even though the production mirrors that feeling, the lyrics explain how it’s not always happily ever after.”
Taking inspiration from some of her idols like Carly Simon and Carole King, we confidently feel she’s done them justice in the songwriting department. We’re always going to love her vocals, but the talents of a well written song like this one are what people will remember forever. It shows a certain maturity that is definitely going to translate to further releases and setting a huge stage for what 2022 brings to the table.
