Roisin Quinn gets real on reflective new single, "Falling"

Review by Austin Sher

Released in November of 2020, but still as fantastic today, Roisin Quinn has shared her latest single, “Falling”. Please read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist as well.

Following up her 2019 EP, Half of Me, Roisin Quinn has done it again with an absolute slow jam of a single, “Falling”. Currently based out of Essex, the artist is focusing on the highs and lows of mental health and depression, a focal point of her music. Blending a soulful mix of piano, lo-fi drums, and divine vocals, Roisin is the real deal.

Having gone on to feature on the soundtrack of Emmy Award winning documentary, “The Nightcrawlers”, Roisin has taken things into her own hands once again with a heartfelt track that is raw and honest. Exploring a more personal side of herself on topics that she deals with on a daily basis, the artist is succeeding in getting the message across, but in a beyond beautiful manner.

While this was our first deep dive into Roisin’s music, let it be known right now that it’s not going to be our last. Seeing as though the song was released towards the end of 2020, we can only hope that she’s got more up her sleeve for sometime in 2021. We’ve become aware that pending COVID and safety protocols, there’s set to be some live shows planned. If she happens to make it out our way in Los Angeles, we’ll make it a point to be there.

Speaking directly on “Falling” though, she’s managed to create a true work of art. Kicking things off with a lovely bass line, the song quickly delves into what we’d consider to be a slow jam of sorts. Now as instrumentally diverse and unique as the song sounds compared to others, without a doubt the focus is directly on the lyricism, especially the way that each line is delicately delivered. Not only does she do a fantastic job of keeping listeners engaged and aware, but she does it in a way that makes you want to listen over and over.

Without a doubt, we’re recommending all give this song a listen. More importantly though, make sure to follow along with everything Roisin has planned in the coming year. We have a feeling that very big things are on their way!
