Piccoloblack mesmerizes on richly produced single, "I'm Fine, Really"
Moody, meaningful and personal from beginning to end, Piccoloblack has done it once again on an all new single, “I’m Fine, Really”. Please read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on this emerging artist.
Impressively, Piccoloblack took the reigns on producing, mixing, and mastering his latest single, “I’m Fine, Really”. Immersive within its sound and styles, the artist immediately piques the listener’s interest with an emotional and slightly downtempo instrumental that builds into something great. While it’s definitely on the short side, it still manages to pack a complete punch for a song that we ended up loving on first listen. We’re highly recommending everyone give both the song and the artist a listen as soon as you can.
On the background of “I’m Fine, Really”, Piccoloblack says, “It's about someone who did me wrong, now they're alone and unhappy, and that makes me feel better”. While it’s certainly on the more toxic side of things, it’s safe to say that we’ve all had a moment that we wished the worst unto those who have wronged us in a way. Even better though, we’re thrilled that the coping mechanism here was to take that message and create something utterly beautiful out of the situation. Although the vocals are primarily used in the second half of the track, for us, it made them hit that much harder as the first minute was this amplified build up of drama and suspense.
Now while we obviously enjoyed our listen immensely, our only real “complaint” is that we wish it were double the length! At only a tad over two minutes in runtime, Piccoloblack sincerely had us on the edge of our seats with how perfectly crafted the intro instrumental was. Considering that he created himself on the production, that’s amazing, but also an artist’s best trick is to keep the listener wanting more. In that case, he succeeded in that regard because it sent us down a rabbit hole of the rest of his music, which to no surprise holds many musical gems. If this is your introduction via “I’m Fine, Really”, please do yourselves all a favor and check out the rest.
