Paraphon share a hypnotic lead single "Miles" off of upcoming album
Just released on May 20th, 2022, the musical duo of Paraphon have shared their first single of 2022 titled “Miles” and it is wonderful! Please read on for our in-depth review of the track, as well as a background on these artists.
Preparing for their debut album that’s slated for release in Fall of this year, Paraphon have given their fans around the world a taste of what’s to come with “Miles”. Focusing heavily on an intense electronic production that are juxtaposed with light and airy vocals, these Switzerland-based musicians have over delivered on a song that we’ve quickly come to love. If this is your introduction to the music of Paraphon, prepare to do a deep dive on everything else that they’ve made.
Made to be the “ideal soundtrack for nighttime car rides through the city”, we couldn’t possibly agree more as the tone and vibes that “Miles” hold are sweet perfection. You can instantly envision yourselves cruising down the highway with the windows down, bass lines bumping, and feeling like you’ve been transported right back to the 1980’s. It’s not often that a wave of emotion comes crashing over us when we listen to a song for only its first time, however this one in particular had a profound effect. With so much drama and passion jam-packed into a single four and a half minute song, Paraphon have managed to create fans for life in us.
Instrumentally speaking, we wouldn’t quite describe it as minimalistic, however the stylistic decision to keep things slightly bare was the right one. What we mean is that any unnecessary production effects or novelty gimmicks could have otherwise taken away the focus from the highlights on the track. Her vocals are certainly the focal point here and paired with pulsating synthesizers, you honestly don’t need much more in order to pique our interest. “Miles” is serving as a fantastic lead single into a debut album that we can’t wait for and will now be patiently awaiting another single release leading up to the big day.
