LOVETA debuts a high-energy and funk filled single, "More Than Fun"
Energetic and dance-worthy right from the start, LOVETA has come out hot on her debut single, “More Than Fun”! Please read on for a complete review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.
Currently based out of New Zealand, LOVETA is the musical moniker of Lauren Marshall, and while she’s featured on singles beforehand, “More Than Fun” is her official debut single. Reminiscent of the funk-filled tunes of the 70’s and expertly blending modern production of the present and future, this song is 100% fresh and ready to be cranked up as summer looms around the corner in our part of the world. If you’re not yet familiar with this artist, prepare to be, because we can only assume she’s got a ton more on the way.
Leading up front with her dynamic vocal range that makes everyone feel like they’re having the time of their lives, you can certainly feel the influence of the past on “More Than Fun”. Somehow though, she’s managed to take what’s being done correctly in pop music these days and put her own spin on it to slide into a niche. You’ll encounter elements of electropop, disco, funk, and so much more wrapped into a ball of joy that runs around four minutes. We really do feel the need though to give a special shout out to the instrumental flourishments that take place in the background, mainly because they give the song a whole lot of depth and really emphasize the pizzazz that the entire package holds.
We were first introduced to LOVETA through her collaboration with Wulfie on “Love Won’t Run Away” last year, so you can only imagine our pure excitement when we saw that she had finally come out with something that she held creative control on. “More Than Fun” has left us wanting more, and even though we like to see artists experiment with sound in their earlier stages, it’s hard to imagine a genre pivot that could be better than this one. Only time will tell for now, but in the meantime, we’ve got to overwhelmingly recommend you check out this song as soon as possible!
