Pamela Hopkins enlists Matt Dame for stunning duet, "Little Things"
Shared this week on February 5th, 2021, Pamela Hopkins has enlisted fellow musician Matt Dame to join her on a lovely dueted single, “Little Things”. Read on for our full thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artist as well.
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Pamela Hopkins is a Little Rock, Arkansas native who has absolutely wowed us with this all new single, “Little Things”. Having Matt Dame join her on the track was certainly a nice added touch, but having listened to her past works released thus far, we’re confident this may be one of her best vocal performances yet.
Having transitioned from being a dueling piano player in Little Rock, to working in clubs all across the US, we’re thrilled Pamela has found a home with Off The Row. We’re not surprised she’s become one of their breakout artists, because the talent speaks for itself. While she can be heard singing classic rock tunes as well, her country roots are shining real bright on this song.
Filled with compelling lyrics that tell an imagery filled story, Pamela and Matt trade lines throughout the three minute track that make you wish you were witnessing it live. With an acoustic guitar opening and a swift inclusion of vocals, there’s no doubt in our minds that their voices together will cause shivers down your spine. We weren’t quite familiar with the music of Matt Dame beforehand, but we’ll definitely be doing our due diligence on what he’s put out so far as well.
Going back to 2018 and listening to Pamela’s debut EP, With or Without You, and now listening to how far she’s come with “Little Things”, it’s got us excited for the future. Whether there be more duets with other talented artists in the feature, or just a series of regularly released solo singles, we’ll be listening.
The real selling point on the single for us were the perfect harmonies, there’s no doubt about it. The way that the artists manage to play off each other and complete each other’s thoughts make this more than just a straightforward song to listen to. If anything, it’s a story that’s come to life, with the added bonus that what you’re hearing is a real thing of beauty. The way it’s produced, mixed, and mastered helps its case, but even without those elements, the song is undoubtedly outstanding. Please give it a listen.
