Occurrence shares second experimental single "Fudge" from upcoming LP

A cosmic blend of infinite sounds, styles, and genres, Occurrence has simply blown us away on their newest single, “Fudge”. Read on as we take a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this talented band.

Teasing out yet another beauty off of their upcoming double album SLOW VIOLENCE, Occurrence have just let loose “Fudge”. Considering this song has been in the works since February of 2021, and gone through many iterations, we’re sincerely thrilled with the way it turned out. At its core, it certainly takes on the feeling of electro-pop, but this band has already proven to not do things in a normal manner. It’s jam packed with experimental moments, passages, and beyond, which is exactly why we’re urging everyone to listen.

Running just a little short of three minutes, Occurrence wastes zero time whatsoever immediately immersing the listener into a highly specific vibe and atmosphere that “Fudge” has to offer. For one, the instrumental and extremes of the background are quick to draw your attention, however, you’re so eloquently juxtaposed with soft and silky vocals that balance out the madness. As the bass is being blasted at astronomical frequencies and the intensity of the drums are right in your face, you can’t help but feel like you’ve become one with the music. It’s no surprise in the slightest that this managed to hold our attention and focus the entirety of the listen, but the more we’ve gone for repeated listens, the more the subtleties in the production begin to reveal themselves.

As mentioned earlier, this is the second track off the band’s upcoming record, and since then we’ve taken the opportunity to check out “Heels over Head”. We won’t spoil the greatness of that song, but essentially what we’re hearing is that this group has outrageous plans for something special as the rest of this album continues its rollout.
