NTHN reflects on his stellar new single, "Last Year"
For our first review of 2022, NTHN’s fresh release titled “Last Year” is putting all the good vibes out into the New Year. Please read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.
Self-described as a euphoric catchy cloud rap track, NTHN is prioritizing quality over quantity on his latest, “Last Year”. Keeping things relatively short and sweet, it’s a lyrically dense single that takes a look at this artist’s own experience through the past year and a reflection of all the challenges. Needless to say, we’ve loved every facet of this song and confidently think you all will too!
Completely produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by NTHN himself, you can certainly feel the immense amount of passion that went directly into this. Taking his talents and creating an immersive experience like this is no easy task in the slightest, but the full package of it all speaks for itself. With a music video on the way, we can’t wait to see a visual representation for a song that illuminates so many personal experiences.
While it felt like there were infinite highlights on the track, we’ve got to pay special attention to the production effects that elevated this song from good to great. The atmospheric elements in the background lift everything up, but the artist’s confident delivery absolutely added a constant that the song needed to. There’s also this reverberating sensation in the background that just makes you want to bob your head, it’s quite the experience!
Lastly, while this as a whole pays attention to last year, we’re more looking forward to see what NTHN can achieve this year. As this comes out on January 1st, a big year is surely ahead of an artist who we hope has a ton more on the way.
