Truly thinking outside the box in his quest to get eyes on his growing discography, we got the extra special opportunity to speak with Emperor Steve all about his immersive audio gallery. Find out exactly what that is by watching our interview below.
Currently based out of Los Angeles, the music that Emperor Steve has been crafting up over the years has transcended genres. He creates what he feels and his musical influences range all the way from Aphex Twin and Daft Punk to Ween and N.E.R.D. Instead of a traditional release, what this artist has done is create an immersive audio gallery on his website that randomly takes you through 27 songs and infinite experiences. Legitimately, this is one of the coolest rollouts we’ve ever seen.
While most of our interview surrounded the in’s and out’s plus the complexities of putting something like this together, we also learned a ton about the artist and his literal decades of music making. Being entirely self taught and using FL Studio software to put it all together, he’s got a laundry list of music that’s in his chambers just ready to come out and be listened to. The man behind the music is a multi-instrumentalist, however we’d consider his extra curriculars like mixed/digital media, photography, and more to be equally as impressive.
As for the music itself, well as mentioned it certainly doesn’t stick to a particular genre. With that being said though, it’s generally more electronic based but considering his vast array of influences, you’re going to get a little taste of everything. We even included a curated playlist from Emperor Steve below in order to showcase where he’s developed his taste over the years.
Honestly, we don’t really want to give too much else away, but the main point of this all is to visit his website and experience this for yourself. The music is available to stream as well, but seriously the visual aspect and sheer originality of this audio gallery is 100% worth taking the time and checking out. We spent hours listening and exploring.
