Ned and Wendy the Band deliver wholesome live record, "Alive in Los Feliz"
Delivering a massive dose of wholesome music in a live setting, Ned and Wendy the Band have just served up their debut record, Alive in Los Feliz. We loved it! Please read on for a closer look at the album, in addition to a background on these artists.
Recorded live in November 2021 at a concert they hosted in their home, Ned and Wendy the Band’s debut album Alive in Los Feliz is jam packed with originality and a much needed freshness. While it wasn’t planned to be their first album, they ultimately made the decision that this would be the most exciting way to get their name out there. We fully agree and back that decision. Please do yourselves a favor and check it out as soon as you can.
Currently based out of Los Angeles, the band is made up of Lindsey Ferguson and Jordan Plotner who have acted as the yin and yang to each other’s musical endeavors. Coming in at 17 total tracks, Alive in Los Feliz truly gives you an open door look as to what life was like throughout quarantine for these two. Honestly, if you ever really wanted to get to know them on a personal basis, certain tracks like “Awake” or “These Are Not The Words” would fill you in. Even better, the two put together a Short Film that details how they came to be and an unexpected love story. We’ve linked it at the bottom to watch.
While a majority of this record is acoustic and laidback in nature, so much of what we enjoyed about it was the banter and the background on these stories. It’s all too common nowadays to spend months if not years producing and mastering a polished final product, but what sets this apart is the realness it exudes. Seriously, the midtrack discussions and the feeling like you’re in the room with them cannot be imitated. As Los Angeles natives ourselves, we’re a little upset we didn’t get an invite to watch this happen (kidding!).
All that being said though, Alive in Los Feliz has thoroughly provided us with happiness that we didn’t know we needed. We’ve included all the links below in order to listen, watch, and of course to follow along for more from the band!
