Micah excels on his latest pop fusion single, "Exciting"
As the title of Micah’s newest song suggests, his latest musical delivery is “Exciting” almost beyond words. Keep reading for an in-depth look into the track, in addition to a necessary background on this growing artist.
As a 25 year old artist based out of Birmingham, Micah has been specializing in pop music, however his newest song “Exciting” is an exciting blend that infuses plenty of other genres and influences. You might recognize him from his former name “Molly Mikes”, but after a recent rebranding, Micah has come alive and we’re beyond thrilled with the music that’s been shared thus far. Listeners will experience euphoric highs, a crisp production from his cousin Corey, and a slew of memorable moments. If you haven’t done so already, we highly recommend you give this a listen.
Coming in as his third release of the year, “Exciting” is instantly one of those songs that feels catchy and familiar, however the more that you listen, the more it feels like it’s becoming uncovered. We say that in regards to being hooked on his dynamic vocals that show infinite range and even the immense amount of energy that shows itself as well. At right around two and a half minutes of runtime, even though it’s a tad short, Micah still manages to jam pack this track with inventive ideas and ingenious motifs. You get drawn in through his vocals as mentioned, but honestly there’s so many standout moments that will have you humming along and most likely dancing by the end of your initial listen.
Considering this is his third single release of the year, of course we took the opportunity to enjoy the first two. A quick realization is that you can feel and audibly distinguish his growth as an artist throughout the year. “Take Our Time” and “No Way” would be great introductions to this artist, however you do feel that he comes into his own and etches out something special for himself on “Exciting”. The passion is bursting through his vocal cadence, the production really has stepped up a notch, and there are some stellar instrumental bits that are hiding in the background too. With the addition of that R&B flair, you can’t help but love it!
