For those out of the loop, we’ve been loving all the latest releases from Angry Pete. He’s a German-based synth and electropop artist who’s been on an absolute tear in 2022, sharing a handful of singles and a full length album as well. However on his newest song “Searching for the Simple Life”, his sound is continuing to shapeshift and mold to his personal style, infusing more experimentation and personality into the mix. It’s best listened to loudly, so please don’t miss out on giving this one a spin ASAP.

Just released on November 4th, 2022, this single is another glimpse into the artist’s upcoming album, Lost In Reality. Our review for “Losing My Favorite Game” was definitely positive, but even in a short follow up after, Angry Pete has surpassed expectations once again by crafting this amalgamation of genre and influence. Immediately kicking things off with catchy basslines and melodies, the multi-talented musician comes forth with vibrance, original beats, and an always close attention to detail when it comes to the production quality. At just a little over three minutes in runtime, he’s still able to get out all the ideas in a short amount of space, but in a way that the song still feels expansive and full bodied.

Another major standout and highlight was the enthusiasm and power that the vocals held. Not only do they do a great job of expressing the feeling of the message of it all, but they basically act as another necessary instrument in the mix. The flow of Lost In Reality is starting to come to fruition in regards to the themes, tone, and mood, and now that two songs have been revealed, we’re beyond thrilled to see how the rest shapes up.
