Originally from Israel but raised in Hong Kong, Mai Cohen has been head over heels in love with music and writing since the young age of 12. Letting loose the lead single “Hold On” from her soon to be released debut record has our hype levels at a literal all time high. If this is your introduction to the artist, you’ve discovered her at the perfect time, because massive things are on the way for this multidimensional talent.
While there were seemingly infinite highlights for us on this near four minute track, we have to start with Mai’s vocals. Setting the tone for the rest of her glorious career, we instantly resonated with her style that resembles something in the middle of R&B and Pop. There’s so many different genres featured on just this one single, but it’s also set a concrete base for the future showing that Mai’s range could fit any vibe or atmosphere.
