Euphoric and anthemic in every captivating moment of the song, Kurtis Adamus has impressed us once again with the recent release of “Slow Down Your Road”. Showcasing his always uplifting and soulful vocals, this “piano-epic” is a track all about losing control in one's life and coming to terms with the fact that one has to "slow down." We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend you listen to it as soon as you can.
After graduating college and feeling like life was coming at him just a little bit too fast, this song was born. It delicately captured the essence of that wild transition period between the carefree lifestyle of a college student who is quickly blossoming into “real” adulthood in the midst of starting a new career. Leaning heavily on the lyrical output here, Kurtis’ voice and delivery was 100% the focal point of an emotional yet truthful track. Everything about it is pure and original, yet the message is something that so many can relate to no matter the transitional period in their life.
What we loved so much about it was the gradual slow build that eventually erupted into a wall of sound. The way that the piano and Kurtis’ voice collided and contrasted was exactly what we’d hoped for and it worked out for the best. Just like the rest of his growing discography, “Slow Down Your Road” has shaped up to be another gem in his catalog. With two songs already released this year, we’re crossing our fingers that more is in the works for sometime in 2022. Although making connections from the lyrics and the artist’s life make things feel complicated, we’ll still be patiently waiting for more.
