At only 18 years of age, David J is single handedly changing the country music scene for the better. For this New York-born multi-talented musician, he’s been at it since only 13 years old when he began to write songs after being inspired by Justin Bieber’s film, Never Say Never. Already having opened for mega stars like Riley Green, 50 Cent, and so many more, we can confidently state his latest “Lost My Heartbreak” is a hit.

At under three minutes in complete run time, David J has managed to turn us into super fans in such a short amount of time. Seriously, from his inviting vocals to the expert production featured on the track, there isn’t a single negative or con we could point out here. As far as music country goes, we feel that he’s delicately included some fantastic elements of an aging genre, but then somehow updated it with his modern take and song structure.

Lyrically speaking, we implore the readers and soon to be listeners to really make all the connections that he’s trying to make. While it may be easy to get distracted by all the other greatness you’re being surrounded by, don’t forget to connect the dots on some deep and complex stories he’s pushing onto you. We think that one of the main reasons we vibed with the song so fast is that it’s not trying to pull any flashy gimmicks or feature the novelty to stand out. You’re going to experience a certain genuineness that comes through with honesty, passion, and a whole lot of love for music in general.
