Lyle Oliver goes solo on astounding new single, "Hold On"

Breaking apart from his collaboration releases and going solo for a new song, Lyle Oliver has delivered up a memorable one titled “Hold On”. Please read on for our in-depth review of the single, as well as a background on the artist.

Originally from Scotland, but now representing the Ontario, Canada music scene, Lyle Oliver is a singer/songwriter that continuously puts his heart and soul into everything he makes. For his first solo release titled “Hold On”, the artist is reflecting on deep themes such as “a couple who everyone wants to be like but really have problems”. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed this single and sincerely think everyone who listens will as well.

To really prepare ourselves for this newest release, we went ahead and listened to his past collaboration tracks like “Stars and Stripes” and “This Means War”. After listening and directly making the comparison, we thought that everything about this newest song was a fantastically progressive departure to everything put out in the past. In this scenario, Lyle has gone for a more traditional country sound than of the others, but at the same time, it feels like that’s where he’s most comfortable and excels the most.

With so much more music on the way in terms of Lyle-specific releases, this first one was a total doozy yet a perfect baseline for what existing and new listeners can expect for the future. In our opinion, especially with so much country music sounding similar these days, Lyle has dared to sort of reinvent the genre and put emphasis on clever songwriting. That’s not to mention that his vocals are silky smooth as well, which only added to our overwhelmingly positive remarks on this song.

Honestly though, it’s looking like 2022 is going to become a massive year for this artist, which is why we’ll undoubtedly have our eyes and ears on everything that’s set to come. We hope you do as well, which is why we’ve made it easy to follow along by checking out all those important links below. You can listen to his other music too, enjoy!
