Following up his debut album Call Me Ishmael, that we so quickly fell in love with, Tom Ciurczak has made his return with a holiday original, “Christmas Time in Hollywood”. Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a refresher on this talented artist.

Straight out of the Hollywood Studio backlots, Tom Ciurczak has created a lyrically satirical single titled “Christmas Time in Hollywood”. Taking his songwriting skills to another level, he’s aimed to make fun of the industry in their marketing efforts to influence the season, however the catchiness of this song was mainly what we were paying attention to. If this is your introduction to Tom’s music as a whole, you’re in for a serious treat.

Considering Tom has been a songwriter most of his life, our first impression of his newest song drew our focus directly to the lyrics and just how clever he could make them. While it’s no easy task to come up with a holiday original, as usually the typical releases center around covers, we can confidently feel ourselves listening to this one well past the holiday times. Seeing as though we loved his debut album so much in our original review, it was an even greater feeling to see that he had more music coming out as well.

At just a tad under four minutes in length, Tom immediately transports the listener directly into the season itself with the tones and instrumentation used. While this review is coming out right around Thanksgiving time, it’s never too early to start listening or appreciate great songs like this. Even putting aside the messaging and holiday feel, this artist continues to bring his best into the mix, especially on the vocals side of things.

Of course our sincere recommendation is for you to check out the song, but knowing what else Tom Ciurczak is capable of musically, you’d be a fool not to dig into his previous record for a whole album full of lovely originals. Our hope here is that this isn’t just a seasonal release, rather him gearing up for a massive 2022 full of singles and albums. Only time will tell for now!
