Representing the music scene in Kerry, Ireland, Lisa Curran is no stranger to music in the slightest even though this happens to be her debut single. Having attended the Cork School of Music, working as a vocal coach, and even as a music journalist, she lives and breathes it. She’s been a part of other musical projects, but we’re beyond thrilled with her solo work and are highly recommending everyone out there give “Milkshake Sky” a listen as soon as possible.
To give a bit of background on the track, Lisa had actually been holding onto the final version of this for quite some time until she decided to ultimately release it independently. It goes to show that you don’t necessarily need to fit the ideal image of a “pop star” to make jaw dropping music like this, which is why we’re fully on board with everything she makes now and into the future. Speaking directly on the track though, she’s blended genres in the sense that you obviously get that pop base, but there’s dreamy aspects of it that make you feel like you’re floating on a cloud.
The production is top tier, the lyricism paints a picture, however the clear standout of “Milkshake Sky” are Lisa’s divine vocals that immediately pique the listener’s interest. There’s a reason she’s good at her job as a vocal coach because anyone should aspire to sound like this. It features pure tones and a real passion behind every line that lets you know she’s filled with confidence and having an absolute blast while doing it. For so many it takes their first few official songs to find a groove or to be comfortable enough to hit those high notes, but Lisa has slipped into something perfect here and you can’t help but want to learn the words and sing along with her. To say the song “Milkshake Sky” is catchy would be a complete understatement.
