Left Of The Slash change it up on dramatic single, "Over and Over"
You just know that when Left Of The Slash releases a new single, we’re going to be the ones covering! Yet again, the band has knocked it out of the park on their latest, “Over and Over”. Keep reading for our positive review, as well as a refresher on their project.
Led by Stephen Reid Nemeroff, Left Of The Slash continue to test their abilities and fuse every genre under the rock umbrella in their typical expert fashion. On this latest output titled “Over and Over”, we instantly were hit with a great deal of ominous and dramatic tones from the instrumentation and even the vocal delivery. It’s a perfect addition to their quickly growing discography and we can’t wait for you to give it a listen.
If you’re out of the loop on this band, this is the perfect time to be discovering them as they’ve put together impressive single releases on a consistent monthly basis. Leading towards a full length record next month in September, their past tracks like “Hayne” and “Never Let Go” have been slowly unraveling the full package due out soon. For the fans of Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and anything close to grunge rock, this newest single hits the spot in a way that’ll have you exploring the rest of their discography.
As mentioned, we were hit quickly with sort of spooky and dramatic vibes as the song opened up, specifically the way the guitars led into the vocals entering. The song built up to an explosion of sound that wasn’t quite unexpected, but as always, appreciated and true to give off that signature Left Of The Slash sound. They’ve left breadcrumbs in each of their past releases that are forming their stylistically unique sound, and this track is no different.
According to Stephen, he explained the background of this song in which he said, “’Over And Over’ was a track we played all instrumental during Left Of The Slash 1.0 that we referred to as “Jay’s Song” or “Tribal.” It was named after our original drummer, Jay Flash. One of the last songs put on our debut album “WON", I added in the lyrics last year and made the song a little more “radio friendly” as they say. The instrumentals always had a psychedelic heavy vibe so I tried to match the lyrics with the vocals by doing something a little out there.” It’s always a plus to get the background, thanks Stephen!
