Next up in the trilogy of Bluenose B albums is an absolute beauty that’s titled The Lost Estates. Luckily for us, we got the incredible opportunity to speak with the artist behind the music about the new record! Watch our full interview below.

For those out of the loop, Bluenose B is an artistic collective that was originally set up in Liverpool, England during the early 80’s. Led by Stephen Lawson, the band was originally a post punk concept that spoke on politics. Nowadays, Lawson takes care of the songwriting and brings on collaborators to help out the instrumentation portion. Those artists include, Pete Wylie (The Mighty Wah), Henry Priestman (The Christians), Dave Billows (Red Dog), Tom Williams (Redrum Club) and lately John and Virginia Kettle and Neil McCartney (Merry Hell).

While they don’t focus on the same style, their music is always lyrically focused with an emphasis on stories that need to be told. The Lost Estates is the second album of the year for Bluenose B and there’s one more planned out to complete the trilogy. We’re hoping it’ll be released sometime in early 2021, but no rush to the artists involved. We completely fell in love with the first record Harrowby Road which was released in February. This latest output has delivered in a big way and it was a complete honor to get to speak with Stephen all about the project.

At 12 total songs, spanning just around 40 minutes in run time, Bluenose B puts together a handful of compelling stories that are told in a wonderfully direct fashion. The collaborators on this album truly put together something special and getting to hear the finer details from the lead man was the perfect insight into learning all about the music collective.

The specialty here is the songwriting and this album certainly shows off the talents that are painting stories from words.
