Karla Rose & The West End Trio over deliver on lovely debut, "I Promise"
Delivering an incredibly eclectic yet vibrant debut single, we’re thrilled with “I Promise” coming from Karla Rose & The West End Trio. Please read our in-depth review of the track, in addition to a background on these immensely talented artists.
Formed in Paisley, Scotland back in 2021 while studying music in college, Karla Rose & The West End Trio are made up of Karla Rose (vocals), Clarke Miller (guitar), Euan Wilson (guitar), and Adam Peter Mills (bass/keys). Together they’re creating an exotic mix of Folk and Americana that is simply soulful and heartfelt in its vibrato. We instantly resonated with it and can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a listen as soon as you can.
Writing about “the difficulties of life and relationships often drawing on her (Karla’s) own experiences”, we definitely found “I Promise” to be lyrically poignant and painted a clear picture of said struggles. While obviously her vocals are right at the forefront and remain the constant uplifter of the track, you’ve got to give it to the band here as well for forming something that is soft yet intriguing on the instrumental front. As a complete group, they make it sound so easy and effortless, but if you uncover it all you’ll quickly find out just how complex it all really is.
With an Americana-inspired EP on the way and “I Promise” ultimately being their entrance into the scene, this song has proved to us they’ve got what it takes to carve out a niche for themselves in a genre that desperately needs it. Seriously, in our opinion it feels like there’s been a lack of innovation within the style for years now, but this 100% serves as a revitalization and something that comes off as fresh and passionate. While we’re not completely aware of the release date, we’ll patiently be awaiting it, and crossing our fingers for a follow up single hopefully any day now.
