Boba Cat let loose on nostalgia inducing album, "Maximum Erection"
For the uninitiated, please don’t be put off by the name, but Boba Cat have just served up an absolutely dynamic record titled Maximum Erection. Read on for a closer look at the album, in addition to a background on this band.
Effortlessly blending together a dose of nostalgic hair metal with glimmers of present day rock and roll, Boba Cat’s album Maximum Erection is not for the faint of heart. Guaranteed to entertain from start to finish, these veterans of the industry have created something both exciting yet provocative within the lyricism. As this was our introduction to the band, we didn’t quite know what to expect, but in the end they’ve left a positive taste in our mouth.
According to the band, Boba Cat encapsulates sex, drugs, and rock and roll. While you can clearly tell that they’re having an immensely fun time while playing these songs, you can’t help but get into the groove right alongside them. Lyrically speaking, there’s definitely some X-rated content being sung about, but if you don’t mind that then this might just become your next go to album to kick off a wild night of festivities. On the instrumental side of things, Boba Cat endlessly shred, go off on solo tangents, and have re-defined letting loose on a massive scale.
One thing that we weren’t expecting yet it delivered in a big way was just how cohesive this record was. Sure, you could easily pull some of the bigger hits and place them on playlists, but our suggestion would really be to click the play button and let it run through untouched. You honestly feel like you’ve been transported into a different era, meanwhile this record is being shared in nearly mid-2022. It’s not something we’re seeing right now in rock as a whole, but it’s definitely a welcomed sound that we personally think will never get old. To witness this band in a live setting, we can’t even begin to imagine the on stage antics that would most likely transpire.
