Rich Chambers gives his all on cover of The Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There"
Delivering on a cover that’s extremely close to his heart, you must check out Rich Chambers’ take on The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There”. Read on for our in-depth review of the track, as well as an update on the artist.
Like we’ve mentioned so many times in the past, you truly never know what you’re going to get when Rich Chambers releases a song. In this case, he’s covered one of our personal favorite Beatles songs of all time, “I Saw Her Standing There”. With a music video to be released in the next day or so, we humbly suggest that you kick off your journey of the song with all the streams as soon as you can.
While we’re sure you’ve heard the song in some capacity, the background on the decision making is one that’ll warm your heart. Says Rich, “it is one of the first songs I ever played and sang in a band when I was 15, so I have a certain affinity toward it. I am hoping to use the familiarity of this song to my advantage. My goal with the song is to gain new fans by presenting people with something familiar that will hopefully pique their curiosity, and then, if they like what I do with the Beatles song, will help them to discover the other original stuff I have out and become fans”.
To be honest, it’s an extremely smart tactic and it would’ve worked on us if we weren’t already fans. With that being said, he’s really done justice to a simplistic song in the sense that there’s an unfounded edge that’s been presented. While the instrumentation is basically the same, Rich’s vocals are what you’ll fall in love with the most. The original is a clean cut no-frills version, but Rich’s truly emphasizes the rock side of rock and roll. There’s a bursting passion in every word and you instantly envision him on stage running back and forth giving it his all. For anyone that hasn’t listened to the rest of Rich’s discography, this would certainly be a perfect entry point.
It should come as no surprise, but everything Rich puts his name on whether it’s a cover or not always seems to have a certain pizzazz to it. Some would call it his signature sound, but we think it’s a personality coming through subconsciously. We love it and we wouldn’t change a single thing about it!
