Just Tommy returns to talk "Best Friend" single & video - Interview
Fresh off the release of his latest single and music video for “Best Friend”, we got another chance to sit and speak with Just Tommy! Please watch our full interview below.
It’s been a tad over a year since our last conversation with Just Tommy, but with a stellar and unbelievably catchy new single and video out for “Best Friend”, we just had to get him back on the podcast. If you’re out of the loop on this immensely talented artist, he’s a Tempe-based musician who actively infuses his infinite passion, emotion, and love into everything he makes. Now would be the ideal time to explore his growing discography if you haven’t already done so.
Now while the video itself gives you all the backstory, Tommy says on its background, “The initial theme of “Best Friend” is childhood friendship. For me, it was remembering back to being on the playground at 4 years old and seeing the person that would become my very first friend. Remembering those feelings of giddiness, and excitement to have another person to play in the sandbox with.” The term “best friend” can translate to so many aspects, and with the cutest dog being featured in the music video, we’ve certainly considered our animals to fill that spot as well.
Taking the message aside for just a moment though, Just Tommy and his wonderful team that features producer and engineer Chuck Alkazian have simply delivered one of the most instantly catchy songs we’ve heard all year, seriously. If the video wasn’t enough to get you singing and bopping along, something must be wrong. Honestly, from the first listen on the bright instrumentation, Tommy’s silky smooth vocals, and the general positivity that the song holds make it an instant winner in our eyes. Adding onto the already impressive discography that he’s built, it’s another perfect add to much more on the way. He’s got a release schedule of every 6 weeks or so, so please keep your eyes on all that’s to come!
