Juniper Avenue preview new album with dynamic single, "Bumfuzzle"
Serving up their first single this year, Juniper Avenue have given us something incredibly special with the fresh release of “Bumfuzzle”. Keep reading for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on these talented artists.
Made up of Jeremy Adinolfi (Drums), Luke Baker (Guitar, Vocals), Cody Everest (Bass), and Graham Levy (Lead Guitar), Juniper Avenue are a North Carolina-based band that have simply blown our minds with the release of “Bumfuzzle”. Somewhere between psychedelic, garage, and punk rock, they’ve infused a seemingly endless amount of influences and inspirations into this three minute rocker that we can already consider an instant classic. With an album on the way titled Chuck Rock, consider us more than excited for the record’s release.
After two long years of “self-discovery and adventure”, Juniper Avenue are making a valiant return and have kicked off the album cycle with “Bumfuzzle” that we’ve already spun countless times at this point. Considering that this is right up our alley and extremely close to our personal preference of genre, we tend to “judge” a bit harder. With that being said though, you can only imagine the sheer elation by the end of our initial listen when we were collectively banging our heads back and forth and air guitaring as the song wrapped up. Featuring adrenaline-inducing instrumentation and a seriously killer production, there’s simply nothing we would change about this song in the slightest.
Now to be honest, we did have a slightly difficult time trying to make connections within the song’s lyrics, but according to the band, the “lyrics are wild and abstract from a fever dream type influence”. Do with that what you will, but just know that on your first listen there’s a great chance that your focus will be shifted towards the more sonic elements of the song. As Chuck Rock begins its rollout though, we do sincerely hope that there are more singles like this leading up to the big release. We may begin to see themes form within the context of the songs, but as long as we can rock out to it, we’ll consider that to be a job well done.
