Joséphine bares it all on latest single, "Truthful"
Set for its official release on March 26th, 2021, Joséphine is back with a highly anticipated single titled “Truthful”. Spoiler alert, we are absolutely loving it! Read along with us for our in-depth analysis of the track and an insight on this emerging artist.
Exploring the complexities that come with falling in love and all of its potential, “Truthful” is the next big thing coming from current LA artist Joséphine. Bringing her own unique flavor to the genres of Jazz and Pop, she’s already impressed us over the past couple of years with the release of an EP, album, and a handful of catchy singles.
Exploring intense concepts such as self-discovery, love, and acceptance, she’s actively baring it all for those who will listen to her story. Wrapped up in an unbelievably stellar production, her cunning lyrics, and a smooth vocal delivery, we can confidently state right now that this track is a winner.
While we should probably remind you again that the track is set for release this coming Friday (March 26th), she’s got plenty of other tunes to explore in the meantime. What we love to do as reviewers is skim through the artist’s existing discography to see how they’ve revolutionized their sound, mainly to compare and contrast their growth. All across the board, Joséphine has taken it a notch up with each subsequent release. You can audibly hear the positive changes from song to song and we think that’s why “Truthful” came out as great as it did. As an artist learns, grows, and reflects, they hone in on what’s right and wrong. Not that anything was necessarily wrong in the past, but they work off of what was right. Listen for yourselves.
This single specifically does a fantastic job of being relatable to the average listener in its lyricism, giving an outlet to groove along to within the somewhat club-inspired beat, and also the opportunity to vibe out to something that isn’t a piece of hyper pop. While the background noise is surely impressive, it still lives on as an ultimately vocal forward track that Joséphine has a serious handle on. Her pitch control, deliveries, and the mixing of the song made for an outstanding performance from the artist.
Should it really seem like a surprise at this point that we’re recommending a listen? Not only do we think you should give it a stream for yourself (when it’s out), but also to take the time and dig into the discography, you surely won’t be disappointed. For now, enjoy!
