Jodré delivers an awe-inspiring performance on love song, "conversations"

Led by his silky smooth vocals and a rich textural production, Jodré has completely impressed us with his new song, “conversations”. Freshly released on September 20th, 2022, this song was built and manifested by the excitement of love, but the deep and imagery-filled lyricism that’s being communicated came directly from the heart. Considering this was our initial introduction to the work of Jodré, we didn’t quite know what to expect, but he’s left us feeling confident and empowered after our listen. We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend everyone out there give this a spin.
According to the artist, “conversations” is a song “about the pure emotions that arise when a relationship starts”. Based on the first time he experienced being in a serious relationship, you’re ultimately with a wave of new and unfounded emotions, most you’ve never experienced before. With that being said, the driver here was Jodré pushing himself into the direction of trying to communicate those feelings, with a resounding chorus repeating, “Take me to your heart”. While the song itself feels like it borders the line between classic 90’s R&B and glimmers of the best parts of Soul music, there’s undoubtedly that stripped back and raw feeling that it holds from start to finish. Immediately, you’re immersed in a person’s extremely special moment, one that he clearly wants everyone to experience and be a part of.
With a reverberating acoustic guitar providing the backing track and mood-filled tones throughout “conversations”, we do think that the stylistic decision to have a small amount of instruments was the right call. Anything flashy, gimmicky, or novelty added would’ve 100% taken away from the allure and focus of the most important part of this song, his words. It’s an ode to a unique time in a first love’s life, one that’s difficult to recreate, but now he’s got this downright outstanding track to come back to as a reminder if that feeling ever gets lost. Truly, “conversations” is the perfect storm of inspired vocals and touching lyrics to create something memorable for the first time listener.
