Dominic DeLaney gives an in-depth look on 2nd Album, "For Life" - Interview
Taking the time out of his busy schedule to speak with us, we got the incredible opportunity to highlight Dominic DeLaney and his all new record, For Life. Please check out our full interview with the artist below.
Hands down one of the most chaotic yet perfect representations of touring life, we spoke with Dominic DeLaney in-depth about his sophomore record, For Life. Taking place on a tour bus surrounded by a group of guys making memories for life, we dug into the album that so perfectly takes the form of acoustic punk rock with plenty of signature subtleties and essence infused by Dominic himself. It’s a conversation we’ll remember forever, but the real priority here is to get as many ears as possible on this rocker of a record. Don’t miss it!
Following up his 2021 debut, The Marrow In My Bones, which we’ve now had the chance to listen to, it certainly helped to get a background about it from Dominic. He explained it eloquently, but ultimately the album revolves around personal experiences from getting sober, his marriage, and other anecdotal experiences that show themselves. As impressive as For Life is lyrically, it completely backs itself up with a compelling instrumentation that keeps you hooked from the opening notes. With plenty of help on the recording side from the band members that he was actually touring with, this is a solo project in theory, but the end result has become this sonic collaboration of extreme talent.
Currently based out of South Florida, but in the midst of a tour up the East Coast of the US, Dominic is the opening act on this tour and bringing a surge of energy and a seriously bright light into the mix. Our initial thoughts after our first listen were how well this record would translate in a live setting, purely demonstrated on the sincerity, ingenuity, and freshness that every song holds. We spoke about in great length, but one of the things that keeps this artist going is his passion for playing live. Nearing 300 shows played since the beginning, he shows no signs of slowing down, and we hope that he brings his act to the West Coast so we can experience it in the flesh.
