Jacob Giaimo looks back on "Sun Support" and future releases - Interview
Officially released in 2021, but still as fantastic today, Jacob Giaimo’s “Sun Support” is an absolute hit and we got the chance to talk with the artist all about it. Please watch our full interview below.
Perfect for the summer and nearly any laid back situation, Jacob Giaimo’s single “Sun Support” is an upbeat and infectiously catchy tune that we’ve had stuck in our heads for quite some time now. Recorded at Opus Recording in Hollywood, California last year, Jacob hasn’t slowed down whatsoever in his releases, and actually has a new record coming out this Fall. We spoke in-depth about the track, what else is on the horizon, and so many more topics during our wonderful conversation.
For this Orlando-based singer and songwriter, he’s passionately infusing thoughtful lyrics with acoustic-based instrumentation that’s virtually guaranteed to brighten your day. We spoke about it extensively during our chat, but Jacob gave a nice background on the creation of the song in which he said, “I wrote ‘Sun Support’ while visiting my parents’ house in Orlando. Fortunately, they had a lovely pool in the back and I was spending a lot of time out in the sun. At the time, I was listening to a good amount of Bob Marley and I was inspired to write a fun song to listen to by the pool." It really is just that, a fun and vibrant single that’s perfect for the outdoors and to legitimately put you in a good mood with its positive vibes.
Over the past year though, he’s put out an additional two tracks “Turning Tides” and “Take Care”, both of which we recommend. As mentioned though, there’s a full length record that’s currently on its way and from what we spoke about, we should be hearing a bit of a pivot in the sound and style. That’s not to say it’ll be completely different from what you hear on “Sun Support”, but like every great artist, they need to be open to experimentation down the road.
