Freshly released on February 26th, 2021, Gabrielle Ornate has more than impressed us with her latest single, “The March of the Caterpillars”. We’re loving it! Read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the track, as well as a background on this blossoming artist.

Crafting pop rock tracks poised for the entire world to enjoy, Gabrielle Ornate is an up and coming independent artist that we are loving thus far. Filled with trippy synthesizers, rocking guitar riffs, and a soaring vocal range, “The March of the Caterpillars” has managed to take us by hold and not let go.

So the story goes on the origins of the track, it is a “fable about respecting one’s roots; blossoming the connection between worlds. As life continually evolves, like how a caterpillar transitions into a butterfly, one must not forget the genesis of their journey”. While you’ll definitely be able to hear it for yourselves within the striking lyricism, it’s always a nice look into an artist’s mind when it comes straight from them.

Right from the get go on this near four minute thriller, Gabrielle has expertly crafted a dramatic, suspenseful, and downright intoxicating track that we haven’t been able to stop listening to since its official release. What impressed us the most wasn’t just Gabrielle’s powerful vocals, but rather the way that she played with time signatures, specifically on the drumming patterns. The way it speeds up, slows down, yet maintains its empowering pace from start to finish was one of our favorite moments.

With a music video that’s now set for release on March 12th, Gabrielle Ornate’s stock continues to rise as she establishes herself within the music scene. While there isn’t a massive discography to dig through just yet, it’s got us incredibly excited to see what else she creates so early in her career. So clearly, her talent has shown through inexplicably on this single, but taking the existing sound and shaping it to create something signature for herself is what we’re looking forward to the most.

Whether you happen to be reading this on the day it comes out, or on a random weekday, this is the type of music that doesn’t require a certain setting or state of mind to get into. It’s without a doubt going to be an often listen for us, and with that, we are highly recommending and suggesting you check it out as well.
