Femegades preview another rocker, "Be Alone" ahead of new EP
Giving the world another preview before the release of their EP Not All Men, Femegades are continuing to build up hype with “Be Alone”. We’re loving it! Read on for our look at the track, as well as a much needed background on the band.
Self-described as if “Bikini Kill and The Clash had a lovechild but it was raised by Courtney Love”, that’s exactly what you can expect when you hit the play button on Femegades’ music. The lead up to Not All Men has been something special, but the absolute power that “Be Alone” holds has us more excited than ever for the entirety of the EP. If for some reason this is your introduction to the band, let this be the start to your exploration through their rapidly expanding discography.
With deep lyricism that aims to tell a story through the eyes of a surrogate mother, “Be Alone” is “shining a light on the dangers of exploitation and the potential for regret and damage in an unregulated industry”. We’ll be honest though, you’re immediately hit in the face with a wall of sound through a pounding instrumentation, and our focus didn’t really come onto the lyrics until our second or third listen. With that being said though, Femegades are sincerely rounding out their sound with not only an impressive sonic representation, but showcasing themselves as prominent songwriters as well. In today’s day and age in music, well rounded performers are exactly what you need to be in order to stand out.
Through dynamic vocals, a crisp production, and that anthemic factor that begs the listener to sing those words right back, “Be Alone” is serving as another impressive addition and lead up to what’s coming. We took the opportunity to check out “Speechless” too, and it hits just as hard, but we’re extremely interested to see how these tracks flow in the context of a record. We’re already sensing that cohesion and attention to detail, but time will tell once it’s all out to fully enjoy.
Three minutes of jam-packed energy is what we’ve received here and so we’re now urging all the listeners to check this out immediately. Go ahead and do so by clicking the links below to listen, follow along, and to keep up with the latest news from Femegades.
