Everything But The Everything & Tobias Hawkins collaborate on new single, "Denials"

Another single release, another winner! This all new track titled “Denials” coming from Everything But The Everything is an absolute showstopper. Keep reading for our in-depth look into the track, as well as a refresher on the artist.

On this newest release “Denials”, Izzy The Gent has continued on his project Everything But The Everything with a pitch perfect collaboration. After befriending Tobias Hawkins after their respective bands played a show together in San Francisco, the two linked up to create some greatness of their own. There isn’t a single dull moment on this single, so please let us point you in the direction to listen as soon as possible.

If you happen to be unfamiliar with the work of Oakland producer Izzy The Gent, this is the best time to have discovered him. On the background of Tobias Hawkins, he’s garnered quite the musical resume over the years as well. Playing drums as one of the founding members of Counting Crows is the highlight, but he also sang in Laundry with Primus legend, Tim Alexander. Together these two have fused their musical talents and created one of our favorite songs of the month.

Coming in at four minutes in run time, prepare yourselves for a true wall of sound that bridges the gap between punk, pop, and rock tones. Of course the production side of things is top notch because there’s no way Izzy The Gent would release something that wasn’t beautiful, but on the other side, Tobias Hawkins has also brought his best to the mix. The ultimate combination of instrumentation within the synths, keys, and heavy drumming alluded slightly to the best of the 80’s, but with a massive dose of modern dropped in as well. Honestly, it would be quite the task to nail down everything going on here, but it barely matters because it all just worked so well.

Without giving too much away here, it’s a lovely introduction to both artists that will 100% implore you to jump down the rabbit holes of their respective discographies. Each has their own style of course, but the collaboration here is just begging for the follow up. No need to rush that, but we’ll quietly be waiting! For now, hop into “Denials” by checking out the links below, enjoy!
