Emily Sweeney details her past on single, "Dive Bar"
On her freshly released single titled “Dive Bar”, Emily Sweeney has made her return to music in the perfect fashion. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along for our stellar review of the track, and a background on this emerging artist as well.
Born in Boston, but now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Emily Sweeney is a singer and songwriter who has wowed us in almost unexplainable ways on her newest single, “Dive Bar”. As of recently, she’s gotten casted on a new songwriting TV show called “Nashville’s Next Best Of Three," that is now available to stream on the e360tv app. Honestly, we’re not surprised in the slightest because what she’s done on this single is worthy of being featured on TV.
Especially hard hitting in the lyrics and the overall tone, “Dive Bar” marks Emily Sweeney’s first single release since 2018. What she’s been able to accomplish on this near four minute track is nothing short of amazing. Her vocals and delivery were without a doubt the star of the show from beginning to end, however, the production and direction of the song is what held us until the final moments. While we don’t know what she’s been up to specifically over the last 3 years, we’d like to think that this song is a quick catch up as to what she’s been up to.
As it rings through on the track, “A dive bar ain’t a place to find a husband”, Emily continues on to air her frustrations in the most breathtaking way imaginable. It almost felt cathartic to us as listeners to hear her get the message across. Paired wonderfully with screaming guitar riffs, heavy drum fills, and an emotional climax to the song, there isn’t a single negative thing we could say about “Dive Bar”. To us, it was the ideal representation of what we think modern country music should sound like and we legitimately can’t wait to hear more come from this artist in the hopefully near future.
If this happens to be your first introduction to the music of Emily Sweeney, you’ve discovered her at a great time. We’re crossing our fingers more is on the way, but even if it’s not, get yourself started immediately with a listen of “Dive Bar” today.
