Dude Low delivers laidback track "Amnesia" off upcoming album

Back at it with a new atmospheric single called “Amnesia”, Dude Low is delivering an all new batch of songs in style. Read on for our in-depth look at the track, as well as a background on this artist.

In anticipation of his newest record titled Ego Trip, due out in April 2022, Dude Low has let loose the first of the bunch titled “Amnesia”. For us, this was an instant checkmark for everything that we love to listen to in our personal time. You’ll experience a lyrically profound and extremely well produced track that’ll leave you feeling all sorts of calm. We cannot wait for everyone reading to pop this one on for a listen.

We want to split this review up into two parts basically, the lyrics and the sound. To begin, “Amnesia” is a track for “anyone feeling lost or uncertain about any aspect of life”. Says Dude Low, “I'm just looking for some lightning coming out from the dark. I'm just looking for action buried in the abyss”. He continues to get real deep with it on this song and brings a real moody aesthetic into the mix for all to enjoy. Partly lo-fi and fuzzed out in the delivery, it really adds a whole layer of complexity that we ended up loving quite a bit.

On the production, a simple “wow” could really sum up how much we enjoyed this. Slightly reminiscent of Homeshake at his peak, Dude Low takes things a step further and removes the melancholy out of that predictive sound. Also close in style to some Hip Hop beats, he really does a fantastic job of blurring the lines between genre here. At some moments it’s upbeat and others laidback, but the constant throughout it all is that it’s a song for reflection.

As this was our introduction to the artist, we legitimately can’t wait for the record to drop this April. Our hope is that more singles like this will be released in the meantime, however we’ll learn to be patient and let the artist have his process. For you though, go ahead and please check out those links below where you can listen, follow along, and stay tuned for everything on its way.
