Brian Ponnampalam releases his latest emotional piece, "Dry Leaves"
Released in 2021, but still as mighty and powerful today, Brain Ponnampalam’s latest record Dry Leaves is a moving record we’re recommending. Read on for our full look at the album, as well as a background on this talented artist.
Staying incredibly prolific in his releases, this is Brian Ponnampalam’s 4th record release of 2021. Can you believe it? On his newest album called Dry Leaves, it’s an instrumentally-forward piano based piece that is equal parts emotional and touching. For this multi-instrumentalist based out of Canada, it seems as though he’ll stop at nothing to convey his message within this beauty.
While we can’t help but highly recommend this record in all regards, we need to stop for a moment and give the highest of compliments to the man behind the music, Brain Ponnampaalm. Some artists go their whole careers without releasing four albums, let alone that feat in one year. As this was our introduction to his music as a whole, it appears we’ve got a lot of digging in his discography to do, but he’s really proved his musical intelligence on this one.
Coming in at 8 tracks, spanning right around the 20 minute mark, Brain wastes zero time whatsoever putting his themes out in the open. According to him, this is a tribute to remembering fallen soldiers. It would be a little difficult to get that because of the no lyrics, however knowing that now, it just becomes that much more emotional in the tone and demeanor. It would also be super difficult to pick out a favorite track here as the cohesiveness of it all is just begging for it to be listened to uninterrupted from start to finish.
Lastly, we want to urge everyone out there to give this a close and focused listen, and to also do a bit of exploration for yourselves in checking out the rest of Brian’s music. There’s so much to discover, but start off your journey with a complete listen of Dry Leaves. You can also follow along with him on his social media by checking out the links below.
