Davey Harris lets us in on his newest single, "Self Saboteur" - Interview

Fresh off the release of his latest track, “Self Saboteur”, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Davey Harris for a behind the scenes on the song. Check out our full interview below!

A prolific songwriter and an accidental wizard, Davey Harris has more than proved to us on “Self Saboteur” that he’s got what it takes to make it big in the music business. With a keen sense of storytelling, in addition to his masterful skills as a multi-instrumentalist, it was an absolute delight to get to speak with him. While it’s only his second officially released song, he’s already got us patiently waiting for the inevitable follow up.

Although this appears to be a fairly new solo project, Davey isn’t a stranger to the world of music. In fact, he was the percussionist and co-founder for the band The Tins, which rose to prominence with their breakout hit, “The Green Room,” and cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “State Trooper”. Thankfully though, we think he’s found a certain happiness as a solo artist, and it’s already given him so much freedom to create the type of music he wants to hear himself.

Speaking directly on “Self Saboteur”, the title gives a peek into its context, however it’s definitely worth your time and energy to pick apart his deep lyricism. Instrumentally and atmospherically, he’s truly created an out there world that’s just begging for the listener to get enthralled. Once you click the play button, it’s not difficult to immediately get lost in the little world he’s created. It’s not a particularly long track by any means, but he’s succeeded in transporting us as the listeners.

Lastly, just getting to have the conversation and being provided with the background on a song we loved is more than we could ever ask for. Not to spoil too much else, but it appears that more music is most likely headed our way soon enough. We’ve done the easy part and provided all the most important links below in order to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for more. Enjoy!
