Following up her stellar EP Babylon, released in 2021, Dana Rexx has slid in right at the end of the 2022 with an absolute stunner titled “Rebel”. Displaying a ton of style and influence, somewhere between dark, hyper, and electronic pop, she’s right at the helm with an extraordinary vocal performance that’s jam packed with attitude and edge. This was our introduction to the artist, but she’s over delivered on our expectations, so please give this a listen when you get a chance.
Released on November 23, 2022, Dana Rexx has been the leader in terms of getting everything together on this monumental track. Always in charge of styling, branding, directing, editing videos, artwork, songwriting, and beyond, she’s a complete powerhouse in terms of her artistic capabilities. Right from the opening notes, the listener is immediately transported into this futuristic sounding production that’s got all the bells and whistles, consistently keeping you on the edge of your seat just waiting for what might happen next. On one hand, Dana’s voice comes out as the much needed consistency in the mix, but she’s delicately complemented by plenty of effects that tie all the greatness together.
With a sincere passion about equality, encouraging her fans to embrace their individuality, and always rooting for the “weirdos”, those are three things we’ve got no problem getting on board with. Her music feels like an extension of who she is as a person, always aiming for the best, and pushing herself in all realms of creativity. The endless genre-bending and inclusion of so many styles is something we weren’t quite expecting, but she’s tied everything together in a flawless way. “Rebel” has that feeling of empowerment, giving you the urge that you can conquer anything, truly something that we look for in our personal taste of music.
