Of course getting to hear about the song’s origins was a major highlight, but getting to learn about Alicia as a person was a delight as well. On the background of the track, “Lola” is actually based around a poem that was written by an Australian poet named Nu Lynch. Serving as a captivating and spiritual ode to the
independence of women”, the lyrics and ultimately Alicia’s vocal delivery do an immense justice to such emphatic themes being detailed.
