Chrissie Limos releases her funky and relevant new single, "EXES"

As of this morning, Chrissie Limos just released her funky and fun new single, “EXES”. Read along with us as we give an in-depth review into what we thought of the song, as well as some background information on the artist behind the music.
First off, we have to say that this song took us by surprise as it surpassed our expectations by far! While this was our first glimpse into the musical career of Chrissie Limos, it certainly won’t be our last. Before we get into the details of the song though, here’s some background on the artist. With two singles and a project under her belt, one can hear the versatility she brings to the music. “Tricks” & “1000 Bullets” despite having radically different sounds, the singles perfectly showcase Chrissie Límos ability. The two-pack would be the lead singles on Límos’ debut EP “Got the Love”. Written during the span of 2014 and 2017, the project shows Límos genuinely singing and creating her way through the emotions that falling in love for the first time brings.
The Filipino American artist is sure to take the world of pop and diverse instrumentation by storm with the release of “EXES”. The overall sound and atmosphere of the track were surely one of a kind, and that goes hand in hand with her unique voice as well. From soul, to pop, from fitting right in with a live band to taking over a solo for herself, Chrissie Límos can do it all. With every track you can feel the raw energy, strength and peace that Límos has and wants you to walk away with.
Digging into the music though, right off the bat the funky drums and guitar picking set the tone for the song. According to Chrissie, she just wanted to write something fun and witty (and relatable to those who want to be friends with their exes). Well we can’t blame her there, it’s a tough road to take when splitting up with someone, and surely a topic that deserves a song out of it.
Overall the instrumental on the single is catchy and addicting, we definitely were bobbing our heads from start to finish. It’s absolutely a summery track that’s lighthearted in feel, yet semi-serious in its tone and message. Her voice fits in so well and seriously flourishes as it took hold over the song, it was definitely the highlight for us. That’s not to say the instrumentation wasn’t great, because it was, but who can deny themselves of that voice!
